Meet Cassie Saines

The Web Designer & Digital Strategist Behind Mycelium Creations

Well hello there! I’m Cassie. (She/Her)

I believe every independent business deserves a digital presence they can feel proud of, without having to choose between quality work and keeping the lights on.

Marketing can be wildly expensive, and it shouldn't be a privilege reserved only for the biggest players in the room. As a fellow small business, I provide high-caliber, deeply intentional digital services that are genuinely accessible to the people who keep our communities vibrant.

Whether you need custom web design, local SEO, or clear brand messaging, we cultivate an organic digital strategy for small businesses and nonprofits across Cincinnati, Dayton, and Southwest Ohio. We will always honor your vision, your values, and your bottom line.

I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Early on, school was an uphill climb. Reading didn’t come easily; math was even harder, and in second grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability. While that diagnosis brought lifelong challenges, navigating school with a learning difference taught me patience, adaptability, and resilience. More importantly, it gave me a deep appreciation for how differently people process information. That perspective directly shapes how I approach accessible content design and clear client messaging today.

Determined to turn my love of language into a craft, I earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts at Sinclair Community College before graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s in English and Creative Writing.

Some of my fondest childhood memories were spent visiting family in Northern Kentucky, looking out at the Cincinnati skyline from my grandmother's home in Fort Thomas. After college, planting permanent roots here felt natural. Today, I’m proud to partner with businesses along the I-75 corridor, from Dayton through Greater Cincinnati, and wherever else my clients need me.

Why Mycelium?

A Rooted Approach to Web Design & Digital Strategy

After years working in corporate spaces, I grew exhausted by leadership teams treating every relationship like an extraction. Everything was a pipeline, a funnel, or a target to squeeze for quarter-end metrics. It felt disconnected from why people start things in the first place, and entirely unhelpful for independent organizations trying to do good, lasting work.

So, I took a step back and looked at the natural world. In healthy soil, growth isn’t forced from the top down; it’s nourished from underneath. A mushroom is only the visible fruiting body of mycelium, an expansive, collaborative underground web that trades vital resources so the entire forest can weather hard seasons. I started Mycelium Creations to bring that exact care to small businesses: building the resilient networks that let your craft speak for itself.

That is exactly how I approach your digital presence.

In a healthy ecosystem, every piece works in concert. Your custom website development, organic SEO, email marketing, and brand storytelling shouldn’t live in isolation. When woven together with intention, they strengthen your digital roots across Southwest Ohio and give your business the resilience to thrive season after season. Mycelium Creations exists to cultivate that groundwork—delivering honest, high-caliber strategy that respects your values and your budget.

The Writer’s Eye & The Strategist’s Mind

With over five years of experience in digital marketing, multi-brand blog management, and community communications, I specialize in translating complex ideas into warm, approachable copy that people genuinely enjoy reading.

As a published author and poet (featured in regional collections like the Ohio Bards Poetry Anthology), I care deeply about the weight behind every sentence. I bring that intention to:

Grounded in Glendale

Life beyond the web

While my workdays are spent immersed in custom web design, local SEO strategy, and site architecture, my life thrives in the open air of the physical world. Based in historic Glendale, Ohio, I believe the strongest brands are nurtured through genuine human connection—both across the web and around a physical table.

Outside my home office, that love for collaborative storytelling comes alive in my Dungeons and Dragons gaming group, where we’ve spent nearly a decade rolling dice, building shared worlds, and solving complex problems together (sometimes even in costume). Tending a long-running campaign requires the same care as good digital strategy: deep listening, creative adaptability, and keeping everyone invested in the journey.

When I’m not casting Tasha’s Hideous Laughter or working on hand embroidery, you’ll find me organizing local Glendale community events, tending to my backyard chickens, or traveling across Ohio: visiting my sister in Columbus for fresh creative energy, hiking the trails of Hocking Hills with my in-laws, and exploring throughout Greater Cincinnati and Dayton. When you partner with Mycelium Creations, you’re working with an invested Ohio neighbor dedicated to helping regional small businesses flourish.
